These retainers are designed to push on a screw or bolt in order to simplify retain it whilst in transit prior to final assembly operations. The teeth on the fastener fold flat when the mating panel is presented and screwed down with minimal thickness added to the assembly. Recent regulations regarding movable guards and the retention of their retaining bolts is a good example of an application where the product can be used. All dimensions shown are subject to engineering tolerances. These fasteners are supplied in Bronze and Varnish BV finish as standard other finishes may be subject to a minimum order quantity “Starlock Bolt Retaining Push on Fasteners are perfect for multi-fastener applications where the requirement is for one fastener to secure the other. Commonly used for machinery access panels the Starlock Bolt Retainer is applied to a bolt once it has been placed through a hole in a access panel. The Starlock Bolt Retainer pushes onto the threaded bolt and prevents its loss by fixing it to the access panel whilst allowing for full movement and assembly. Based on a standard Starlock Push On Fastener, the Starlock Bolt Retainer has a modified leg and pierce design which allows it to be flexible enough to be pushed onto a threaded shaft, but strong enough to retain the threaded bolt when torqued up.”
